The European Union's Pivot to Asia

One of Australia’s leading political scientists and experts on European integration and EU-Asia relations, Professor Philomena Murray from University of Melbourne, is visiting the Centre for European Politics from the 15th  to 19th of September.

Tuesday 16 September she will give a talk on The European Union's Pivot to Asia.

Professor Murray’s research interests are in EU-Australia relations; EU-Asia relations; EU governance and comparative regional integration. Among her many publications are Australia and the European Superpower (Melbourne University Press, 2005); Murray P ed. Europe and Asia: Regions in Flux (Palgrave Macmillan, 2008) and Murray P and Rees N eds., European and Asian Regionalism: Form and Function, International Politics, 47, 3/4, May/July 2010 and Christiansen T, Kirchner E, Murray P eds., The Palgrave Handbook of EU-Asia Relations, Basingstoke, Palgrave.

In addition to her professorship at Melbourne University she is a Research Associate of the Institute for International Integration Studies at Trinity College Dublin, a visiting Professor in the International Relations and Diplomacy Studies Department at the College of Europe, Bruges and an Associate Research Fellow at UNU-CRIS (United Nations University Institute for Comparative Regional Integration Studies), Bruges. Moreover, she serves on the Board of the International Political Science Association (IPSA) Research Committee on European Unification.
