Research themes
ADI revolves around a number of themes for research, course activities and educational initiatives. The themes have been identified as anchor points for cutting edge research and teaching between the Social Sciences and the Humanities.
The themes are:
- Knowledge in transit
- Security at global and local levels
- Borders, territorialisation and regionalization
- Belonging, citizenship and identities
- Local responses to global challenges
- The economics of the Asian challenge
- Political institutions and cultures
Cross-cutting topics such as nationalism, environment and climate change, media, religion, minority groups, gender and migration could very well be integrated in the abovementioned, so that the anchor points expand and the research evolves and takes shape according to the knowledge and interests of those involved.
