- Exchange agreement with China

OUTLINE

The Danish Rectors' Conference in cooperation with The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) supports Danish scientists wishing to conduct research visits at a CAS institution by funding travel and stay. The agreement only applies to the scientific and the technological field.

ELIGIBILITY

The agreement aims to stimulate research mobility between the two countries, primarily to enhance the education of research students. It is therefore a prerequisite for obtaining funding that the Danish applicants are active in one or more Chinese educational research settings and through the planned activities help to enhance the quality of research education.

WHAT IS FUNDED

  • Short stays for periods of 14-30 days can be applied for by scientists
  • Longer stays of periods between 6 to 12 months can be applied for by PhD students
  • Stays of 12 months can be applied for by postdocs

Opportunities for longer stays depend on whether the funds are available.
Danes who wish to apply must contact a Chinese host institution.

Beijing Government Scholarship

(BA, MA, PhD, language students, scholars)

 OUTLINE

The Beijing Government Scholarship (BGS) was established by Beijing Municipal Government to provide tuition fees (fully or partially) to international students studying or applying to study in Beijing. BGS provides scholarships for:

  • Excellent international students who pursue degrees at Higher Education Institutions (BA, MA, PhD)
  • Chinese language students and senior scholars
  • General scholars
  • Exchange students and students with special contributions

Applicants may choose institutions and specialties from the Chinese institutions of higher education in the Beijing region.

Beijing Government Scholarship

Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS)

 OUTLINE

Established by the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) aims at attracting the best and brightest students in the world to pursue their PhD studies in Hong Kong's institutions.

An annual stipend of HK$301,200 (approximately US$38,600) and a conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$12,600 (approximately US$1,600) per year.

Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme

Shanghai Government Scholarship for International Students

(BA, MA, PhD)

 OUTLINE

The Shanghai Municipal Education Commission established the Shanghai Government Scholarships (SGS) for International Students in 2005 to attract more outstanding international students to Shanghai. It offers funds to prospective international students to pursue a bachelor’s, master’s degree, PhD degree or to general scholars at institutions of higher education in Shanghai.

 WHAT IS FUNDED

The full scholarship for graduate students includes tuition, living expenses and Comprehensive Medical Insurance, monthly living allowance RMB 3,000 for master’s and RMB 3,500 for doctoral candidates. Partial scholarship includes one or some items of the full scholarship items.

Shanghai Government Scholarships for International Students

S.C. Van Fonden

OUTLINE S. C. Van Fonden supports cultural exchange between Denmark and China.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE AND WHAT IS FUNDED?

1.
Individuals of primarily Chinese origin who reside or temporarily stay in Denmark in order to accomplish a higher education (documented matriculation as Master-, Ph.D. student or similar degree). “Chinese origin” includes individuals born in Denmark or in East Asian countries to Chinese parents. S. C. Van Fonden may not support mercantile studies, residence or sojourn with commercial aims.

2.
Danish citizens’ studies in and scientific relations with China. S. C. Van Fonden may not support mercantile studies, residence or sojourn with commercial aims.

3.
Promotion of art and culture relating to both China and Denmark.
