PhD degree obtained within last 6 years from local or foreign universities; outstanding record of publications.

WHAT IS FUNDED

US$ 23,830 to US$ 34,350 as base annual salary

DEADLINE

The postdoctoral research program is open for application twice a year: the first round between 1st August and 1st September, the second round between 15th January and 1st March.

Center for Chinese Studies, Taiwan

 OUTLINE

The research grant program is aimed at foreign professors, associate professors, assistant professors, post-doctoral researchers, and doctoral candidates in Chinese studies-related departments at foreign universities, as well as researchers at related foreign academic institutes. The research should be undertaken in Taiwan.

ELIGIBILITY

Research expenses, research materials, liaison with universities and research institutions, and use of CCS facilities, etc.

DURATION

Three months to one year

Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange

 OUTLINE

 Researchers focusing on the political, social, economic, or cultural development of Taiwan over the past few decades are especially encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to collaborative projects involving institutions in Taiwan.

ELIGIBILITY

WHAT IS FUNDED

Grant funds may not be used to pay salaries to directors or co-directors, or to cover teaching relief. Research grants should not exceed EUR120,000 for a three-year period.

Usually no more than three years

OUTLINE

Taiwan Foundation for Democracy

International Grants Program

 OUTLINE

The Taiwan Foundation for Democracy (TFD) is devoted to strengthening democracy and human rights in Taiwan and abroad. TFD’s international grants program is designed to assist organizations based outside of Taiwan to carry out projects to promote democracy and human rights.

ORGANISATION

ELIGIBILITY

International non-governmental organizations, academic institutions or think tanks, and other related organizations.

The program places a priority on support for projects that address the Asian region.

WHAT IS FUNDED

The Foundation's guidelines do not permit grants to be awarded exceeding US$100,000. The majority of grants awarded by the Foundation fall within a range between US$3,000 and US$20,000.

All projects must be completed within a single calendar year.
