Seminar and Guest lecture on Confucianism
Daniel A. Bell, professor of ethics and political theory, Tsinghua University, Beijing
On 18 February 2009 the University of Aarhus hosts a one-day seminar on 'Confucianism, Past and Present: Eastern, Western, contemporary and historical perspectives' with Professor Daniel A. Bell as the main speaker. Professor Bell will present a part of his detailed studies into the way Confucianism is at work in contemporary China and how this relates to Confucian classics. This is followed by presentations by Danish scholars, whose work on Confucianism will be brought into discussion with Bell's theories.

On 19 February 2009 the Section for China Studies, Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies and NIAS - Nordic Institute of Asian Studies, University of Copenhagen, invite to a guest lecture with Professor Bell. The title of the lecture is 'China's New Confucianism: Politics and Everyday Life in a Changing Society'.
