Dr. Ren Xiao in Copenhagen

Professor Ren Xiao will be visiting the University of Copenhagen for two weeks from the end of January 2009. During his stay he will be based at CAST - Centre for Advanced Security Theory, Department of Political Science. Ren Xiao will be studying the 'Copenhagen School' within security studies, as well as participating in activities with researchers from the Department of Political Science and NIAS.

Ren Xiao is Professor and Associate Dean at the Institute of International Studies(IIS), Fudan University, Shanghai, China. He is also the Director of the Center for Chinese Foreign Policy Studies at IIS. 

His research concentrates on international relations of the Asia-Pacific, Northeast Asian security, and East Asian economic and security multilateralism. His recent articles are, among others, "China in Search of a Responsible Role in the Korean Peninsula," and "Between Adapting and Shaping: China's Role in Asian Regional Cooperation."
