All exams and formalities will be conducted by University of Copenhagen. Students will have the opportunity to do small scale field work and must participate in the planned research workshop at the Department of Sociology, Peking University as part of the course listed below.

Participation in the 5 ects. course in Copenhagen prior to the 5 ects. course in Beijing is mandatory!

Please note: Students need to take care of their own travel arrangements + accommodation in Beijing. Please make your travel arrangements as soon as possible e.g. via Travellink.dk.

Recommended hotel/hostels close to Peking University are Hotel Arriva, which is within Beijing walking/Subway distance! Note that the Arriva loft apartments accommodate 2-3 persons. (price example: Beijing 24.8- 2.9. kr. 8500 flight and accommodation included).

The 5 ects. course at University of Copenhagen will take place from 10-12 and from 13 to 15 in the CSS campus of University of Copenhagen.

The 5 ects. course at Peking University/ Beijing consists in lectures, fieldwork + participation in the research workshop: Gender Dynamics in the 21st century. Indhold: Please note that the course consists in two sections. Students may participate in section one in Copenhagen and combine section one and section two in Beijing. Please sign up for both sections at the Department of Sociology, University of Copenhagen.

Målbeskrivelse: The summer-school will

• provide students with conceptual knowledge of related to gender dynamics in transnational perspectives.

• provide students with methodological skills and make them able to approach conceptual debates and thematic issues in the intersecting field of gender in connecting comparisons

• present current strategies and burning cases in Danish, European and Chinese contexts!
Lærebøger: A syllabus/compendium with course literature will be available at the CSS Campus Book Store at the end of July 2012. The summer school is an intensive course and students are strongly encouraged to prepare course readings prior to the start.
Tilmelding: Please note: Signing up for courses and exams takes place in the period from June 1 – June 10, 2012. When you sign up for courses you are automatically signed up for exam.
