Roundtable discussion: Chinese grandparents' contribution in the upbringing of young children in China

The discussion will be led by Dr. He Min from the Preschool Education Department at East China Normal University (ECNU), who will be visiting NIAS in late August.
Dr. He Min will start out by describing the different ways in which grandparents help in bringing up children in China and will give her cultural psychological interpretations and reflections on this. Afterwards there will be time for discussion.
Dr. He Min’s research interests include principals of education, Early Childhood Education Curriculum and Preschool Teacher Development, Young Children’s Science Education. Dr. He Min is an associate professor in preschool education at ECNU, advisor on early childhood education of Save the Children China office, and academic support team member of Chinese National 0-3 year old children learning and development guideline developing and research group. Furthermore, Dr. He Min has stayed at Bergen University College as foreign visitor for 10 months and keeps long term cooperation with this preschool teacher training institute
