Abstract
In the lecture Won Il will discuss the kind of musical path he has passed during a period when it is almost inevitable to be influenced by traditional, modern, Western, Oriental and world music. In this talk we will listen to a selection of music based on this discussion. In particular, Won Il will discuss the the phenomenal and particular sound of Korean music which has preserved the distinctive characteristic of the traditional culture and art of East Asia in the present era. He will also discuss the positive meaning traditional sounds and music conveys in today’s rapidly changing, globalized cultural life patterns.
