POSTPONED - South Asia across the Nordic Region 2020
4th Annual Meeting | University of Copenhagen | Postponed till 2021
We are pleased to invite scholars and policy practitioners to contribute to the 4th annual meeting of the South Asia across the Nordic Region (SANR 2020) in Copenhagen. The SANR annual meeting offers a platform to present ongoing research and enhance scholarly collaboration across Nordic research institutions and universities. Since its first inaugural meeting in Copenhagen (2017), followed by Oslo (2018) and Uppsala (2019), SANR has emerged as an important community in the Nordic region for building future frameworks of cooperation, for exploring potential research collaborations, and for presenting cutting edge research undertaken by Nordic scholars.
SANR is especially geared to support younger scholars in need of mentorship in the early career stage. The 2020 meeting aims to bring junior scholars – PhDs and Master students – in dialogue with established scholars in their field. We hope that senior scholars will participate enthusiastically and in large numbers to support up-and-coming scholars in their field.
This year, the meeting will feature
- Keynote lecture by Dr. Suraj Yengde, Harvard University
- Book discussion panel, Dr. Priyamvada Gopal, University of Cambridge
- Panels
- Individual paper presentations
Furthermore, as part of SANR, the Nordic Himalaya Research Network (NHRN) will hold its 3rd annual meeting, and the Modern South Asia studies programme at the University of Copenhagen will organize a workshop on Early Modern Hindustani Literary Sources (27-28 May).
Budget Model: SANR operates on a minimal model. There is no conference fee required to present papers. The organizers will provide coffee, tea and lunches. All travel and accommodation costs will be borne by the participants.
