ADI funding - June 2015
Call for grant applications
The Asian Dynamics Initiative invites researchers employed at the Faculty of Humanities or the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen to submit applications for:
- Grants for Asia focused events, projects, and travels in 2015
(max DKK 10.000)
OR
- Grants for initiating/developing/establishing bilateral projects with Asian partners. The research focus need not be on Asia.
(max DKK 25.000)
Ad 1: Grants for Asia focused events, projects, and travels in 2015
ADI will not fund:
- salary replacement to buy out teaching responsibilities (frikøb)
- publication expenses
- activities that have already taken place
The application (1-2 pages) should include:
- Description and aim of activity
- Expected follow up and possible publication plans
- Budget
For travel and fieldwork applications, priority may be given to applicants who have not previously received funding from ADI.
Researchers employed at the Faculty of Humanities or the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen, including PhD fellows are eligible to apply.
Each application can be supported with up to DKK 10.000.
All expenses must be settled within 2015.
Ad 2: Grants for initiating/developing/establishing bilateral projects with Asian partners
The grants are aimed at giving researchers from the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Social Sciences at UCPH an opportunity to explore new partnerships in Asia in order to initiate, develop, and establish research cooperation. It is not a requirement that the research focus is on Asia.
Grants can be used for:
- Scientific workshops and conferences with participation of researchers from the Faculty of Humanities and/or the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen and counterparts from Asia
- Travel between Denmark and Asia with the purpose of initiating, developing, and establishing joint research projects
The application (1-3 pages) should include:
- Description and aim of project and activity
- Presentation of Asian partner institution(s)/researcher(s)
- Tentative time line/action plan including possible plans regarding research applications for external funding and other outcomes, e.g. publications
- Budget
Priority will be given to projects that explore new research areas regardless of whether the project partners have a well-established connection or are collaborating for the first time.
Important for the assessment is also the potential for continued scientific collaboration following the activity funded by ADI.
Researchers from postdoctoral level and onwards employed at the Faculty of Humanities or the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Copenhagen are eligible to apply.
Each application can be supported with up to DKK 25.000.
All expenses must be settled within 2015.
Submission of application
Application deadline for both grants is 15 June 2015. ADI’s Steering Committee will assess the submitted applications and applicants can expect an answer by 1 July 2015.
Applications should be sent as one PDF file by email to marie.yoshida@nias.ku.dk no later than 15 June 2015.
Successful applicants are required to send a brief scientific report (not more than 1 page) and a financial account.
