ADI workshop 21-22 November 2011

On 21-22 November ADI hosts a workshop to gather scholars from a variety of disciplines who are involved or share interests in one or more of the ADI research clusters that have recently been initiated.

The four cluster are:

- Urban Imaginaries and power in Asian mega-cities
- Bodies and Boundaries
- State, Society and Marginality
- Asia-Europe Encounters

Opening talk by Carsten Boyer Thøgersen, Chief China Advisor, Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Carsten Boyer Thøgersen has worked with Chinese business affairs for more than 30 years and was based in China for 20 years as Consul-General in Shanghai and Guangzhou. He is head of the Commercial and Economic Department at the Embassy in Beijing and Project Director at the Delegation of the EU Commission in Beijing. Carsten Boyer Thøgersen is former Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' China Task Force.
