China wants to be part of the Arctic order and, as a rising power, emphasizes the global implications of the Arctic's melting ice. But how do we assess, both regionally and globally, China's role in the Arctic region?
This mini-conference at the University of Copenhagen explores the subject with a presentation by leading scholar in Chinese foreign policy Dr. Linda Jakobson, and a panel consisting of associate professor Uffe Jakobsen, journalist Martin Breum, Dr. Aki Tonami, researcher Kasandra Behrndt-Eriksen, ph.d. Rasmus Gjedssø Bertelsen, ph.d. Damien Degeorges, and senior researcher Kristian Søby Kristensen.
Dr. Linda Jakobson is East Asia Program Director at Lowy Institute for International Policy in Sydney, Australia. She has lived in China for 20 years, working for SIPRI as a regional director. Linda Jakobson has published six books on China and East Asia societies and writes extensively on Chinese foreign policy, energy security, and science and technology.
