OUTLINE |
The European Research Council (ERC) - a pan-European funding body designed to support investigator-driven frontier research and stimulate scientific excellence across Europe. Under the EU research programme “Horizon 2020”, the ERC has a total budget of over €13 billion for the period 2014-2020 available for individual researchers of any nationality or age who wish to carry out their frontier research in the 28 EU Member States or associated countries. |

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions - Individual Fellowships (IF)
OUTLINE |
Individual Fellowships (European and Global) fund researchers looking to enhance their career development and prospects by working abroad. |

All research areas can be funded except those covered by the EURATOM Treaty. Read more |
ORGANISATION |
Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions |
ELIGIBILITY |
Experienced researchers with a doctoral degree or at least four years' full-time research experience by the time of the call deadline. |
WHAT IS FUNDED |
Allowance to cover living, travel and family costs. |
DURATION |
European Fellowships last from one to two years. Global Fellowships from two to three years. |
Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions - RISE
OUTLINE |
Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE) funds short-term exchanges for staff to develop careers combining scientific excellence with exposure to other countries and sectors. Proposals should include at least three partners (universities, research institutions, or non-academic organisations) from three different countries, at least two from the EU. |

ORGANISATION |
Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions |
ELIGIBILITY |
Research staff of any nationality and any career level (postgraduate to experienced researcher) can undertake a secondment. |
WHAT IS FUNDED |
The secondment of staff members for one month to one year. |
DURATION |
Funding for a RISE project can last up to four years. |
